It amuses me how in all parts of the world, snow, snowflakes and snowmen are used to symbolise Christmas, including in countries where Christmas is in summer, and here in Costa Rica, where the temperature has not dropped below 17 degrees celsius in the last 25 years.
Light the World, or Illumina el Mundo as it is here, has begun. I encourage you all to watch the new video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXWoKi5x3lw
I have heard great things about it (but haven't watched it yet either).
I spent last Tuesday on an exchange with Elder W.
His cheesy American smile got us invited into several homes. A truly celestial day it was, we found several people who were ready to hear our message, and a lovely family I have been teaching since my arrival accepted the baptismal invitation, so we will hear more about them as time goes on.
Talking about my arrival, yesterday marked my second month of being in Costa Rica completed. I mentioned this to Marta and Alejandro, whom we saw yesterday, and were also the first Costa Ricans to whom Elder A introduced me on the night of my arrival, October 1st. We remarked on how much has changed since that sober sleep deprived disciple stumbled into the country.
This week has been a week of generosity. I received a picture of a sloth, a llama tie and a three tiered dreamcatcher from nice people I have met, and have also heard about people at home who have been working hard to furnish my Christmas with nice gifts. The longing I have to send something back to you, I will direct into serving the people I meet here.
Despite the weather, I'm going to make it feel like Christmas.
See you on the next

Edit: This was the infographic Elder Godivala received this week showing how many people are helping #LightTheWorld for him this Christmas from around the world
