So this week I spent Tuesday on an exchange with Elder P. We consumed a watermelon. Aside from that it was a rather slow day. I think we both need a bit more practice.
On Wednesday Elder Amorim and I helped a family make tamales to sell. We then bought a few and took them to another family to eat. Apparently tamales are very Christmassy here. I had not seen one until I went to Mexico.
We found a young man who had promised the Lord that if he did well on his English exams then he would go to church. I'm glad we found him first because the Testigos de Jehovah are also working hard here. Although he had not attended a church before, he had already decided on 'The nice big one with the lawn and white spire' (ours). Elder A refuses to believe that it was a coincidence we met him.
In truth the focus of the Mission President, Presidente Valim, recently has been that we need to trust that the Lord is preparing people to receive his message, and we must talk with everyone to find them. On Saturday we met a man who only that morning had found a Book of Mormon among his belongings. (He also believes the Earth is flat but we'll work on that.)
Here's a green guy who hitched a ride on my umbrella.
That's all for now folks.
See you next week
Elder Godivala
